Tukuwool Silk Mohair is manufactured with responsibly produced materials in Italy. The yarn is composed of 70% RMS certified kid-mohair (Responsible Mohair Standard) and 30% Cruelty Free mulberry silk. RMS certification of South African mohair fibre requires farmers and wool producers to comply with the objectives set out in the standard regarding animal welfare, land use and workers' rights. Silk is produced in China using the more ethical cruelty-free method, in which silk fibres are collected only after the larvae have developed into moths and left the cocoons, ensuring that the production process causes as little damage to the moths as possible.
