Return Policy
All products, with the exception of yarn, are final sale (no refunds/exchanges). The Knitting Loft does not offer refunds and allows exchange only on yarn for an equivalent item, or store credit within 30 days of purchase if unused, in original condition and with the original receipt.
How do I return yarn from my online order?
If you are unable to exchange your product in store, you may select your own shipper/courier to purchase your choice of mail service.
In your parcel, please include a note with your reason for exchange, as well as your packing slip (if possible) or your order number. You may send the exchange to:
You are responsible for your own shipping costs for exchanges. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a store credit, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your credit.
Please note, however, that if you live outside of Canada and we are charged customs/duties to accept the return, that amount will be taken off of your total credit.
Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach us may vary.
If you are shipping an item over $75, you should consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item or take responsibility for return parcels that are lost in transit.
Return Eligibility & Processing Time
Once your product is received and inspected, and if your exchange is approved (products must be in original condition and quality) a credit will be issued and emailed to you via email.
The Knitting Loft reserves the right to reject returns that have been sent beyond our 30-day exchange period, are not in original condition, or are final sale products (this includes non-yarn items, clearance items, and yarns purchased during sales or with a discount code).
If you send back product(s) that are not eligible for return, you will have the choice to either pay to have those product(s) sent back to you, or, to have those products appropriately donated/disposed of if you no longer want them.
The colour wasn't what I expected - help!
We know how important getting the right colour is to you, so we do our best to ensure that all of our photos are an accurate representation of the products and colourways originally received.
However, primarily with hand-dyed yarns, dye lots vary from skein to skein and we cannot guarantee that the new dye lot in stock represents the original photo taken.
Additionally, resolution settings vary on each device, which can make colours appear differently from screen to screen. Due to this, we cannot guarantee that your computer's monitor will display colours accurately.
We're so sorry for the inconvenience, our exchange policy as detailed above applies to this situation.
If you're concerned about dye lots, please feel free to request the lot number or a photo of the specific colourway you're ordering, and we will send you a picture/appropriate information.
To mitigate these challenges to the best of our abilities, we offer full, customized and complimentary online and in-store service all year round in order to assist with colour selection, yarn selection, pattern advice, etc., so please don't hesitate to reach out!
The skein(s) of yarn I received don't have the same weight as written on the label - is this a problem?
Grams of yarn listed per skein are approximates and may vary from yarn to yarn and brand to brand. It is typical for yarn weights to vary by 10g (more or less) than what’s given on the label.
However, we classify yarns that have drastic underweight differences (such as more than 10g off in a single skein or underweight across many skeins) as a manufacturer's defect. In the event of drastic underweight discrepancies, please contact us and we will send you additional skeins if needed/available, or provide a refund/store credit for the problematic skeins.
To avoid any dye lot concerns, we encourage customers to weigh their yarns promptly if there are weight concerns for your best chance at a replacement within the same lot.
