Sadie's Winter Market

Welcome to our 3rd Annual Fundraiser in support of Toronto Humane Society.

This tradition began when a former team member asked if we'd participate in their school's very first holiday market. Since it was a local school that both TKL owners attended as kids, it felt especially meaningful to be part of their first venture, even though we weren't sure what to expect!

Together, with our team and knit circle, we gathered handmade items we no longer needed, but still wanted to see loved. We made the decision that every dollar raised would be donated to Toronto Humane Society, in memory of Sadie, our beloved family dog and TKL's "Ball Analyst," who had just passed that summer of 2023. 

To our surprise, we ended up raising $1,127, all with so many handmade items left over still! It inspired us to test our own in-house event the following year, and this time, our community more than doubled both the donations and funds raised, and nearly every handmade item found a new home at our 2024 market. 

Now, with its official name, "Sadie's Winter Market," this fundraiser has become a celebration of community and collective impact, with 100% of market sales continuing to be donated to Toronto Humane Society. Inspired by Sadie's memory, it is carried forward by our community's commitment to coming together, giving back, and supporting animals in need during Toronto's coldest months.

Donate Handmade Items

Makers love this event because they get to contribute to a great cause while clearing handmade pieces they no longer use, but still want to see loved.

  • Donation Deadline: November 23rd, 2025
  • All handmade items are welcome
  • Drop-off during regular shop hours or ship to The Knitting Loft (672 Wilson Ave., North York, ON M3K1E1).
  • Please include a note that the item(s) are being donated for the event
  • Due to the volume of donations, please note that not all items can be showcased. Donations will be sorted and selected for display, with any unsold items donated afterward (or kept for the following year)
